Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin today said that Russia and Libya have signed a 1.3 billion euro ($1.8 billion) contract for the supply of arms.
The announcement comes a day after Putin and Libyan Defence Minister Abu-BakrYunis Jabr held talks in Moscow.
In the second half of the 20th century, Libya was one of the biggest buyers of Soviet-made arms.
Russian weapons manufacturers assess Russian-Libyan military-technical cooperation as "having good prospects."
